5. To put on a protective contact lens and go home
The whole process is complete within 5 minutes.
The process is simple according to the KISS principle. KISS means Keep It Simple Stupid.
Lasik Movie
Lasik,
microkeratome, laser abrasion video.
The scene is the eyeball under pressure
making the cornea flap by microkeratome.
1.
Eyeball is fixed under negative pressure (minus 60mmHg) by
microkeratome.
2.
To slice the top of the cornea.
3.
To open and turn over the sliced flap.
4.
The central stromal layer is abrated by a weak narrow scanning laser
beam.
5.
Cleaning up of steel particles left over from the slicing.
6.
To replace the flap to it乫s
original position.
7.
To check if the flap is wrinkled or laid in the correct
position.
The
whole process takes about 15
minutes.
This
process is complex and a trained surgeon is necessary. You
will have less flap problems with a better trained surgeon using high tech and
high quality intralasik equipment.
However, various risks and problems arise
with the method itself such as dry eye problems, posterior vitreous detachment,
keratectasia and aberration problems.
